What A Week!
Posted on April 5th, 2009 @ 9:23 am

The title says it all! A week ago Saturday, Jason, Isis, and I moved into our new apartment. It was exciting, but a very long and tiring day. It’s nice having our own space and some privacy…as much as you can have with a seven year old. I started my new job on Sunday, and I love it! It’s a little bit of a drive, but I really don’t mind. It’s nice to go to work and want to be there. Versus most other jobs I’ve had and dreaded going in…

On Wednesday, April 1st (April Fool’s), we were all in the car headed to the store to pick up some things for the apartment and run a few errands. There’s some local construction, of course, and they have those “Road Work Ahead” signs all over the sides of the road. Wednesday was a really windy/gusty day, and as we passed a few of those signs, I could see that the wind was rocking some of them. The signs are supposed to be held secure by sandbags…but I did see a few that were tipped over. Anyways, as we were less than half a mile away from the store, one of the signs caught the wind and blew right into my car! Other than scare the crap out of all of us, it took off my passenger mirror, dented the hood, scratched the passenger window, and shattered the windshield. Nobody was hurt, but it was certainly a rude awakening. Here’s the kicker: there was a state cop driving right in front of us and he didn’t even stop, just kept going! Even better, he drove by five minutes later and still didn’t stop… Way to do your job asshole! So after I calmed down enough to check out the damage, I walked back towards the sign that hit the car, and it must have hit really hard. The sign was cracked in half! I called the police to make a report, and before they left, one officer had the balls to say that at first he “didn’t buy it” and that he thought I hit the sign on my own! Unbelievable…

I’ve posted some pictures of the damage done to the car below. Check out what a sign can do on a windy day!

Moving On, Finally!
Posted on March 27th, 2009 @ 12:32 am

Alrighty, finally, I have an awesome update! I scored a full-time job, not too far from home, in the field I love (direct care). It’s one-on-one care, which is great for me because I’m used to taking care of 23+ patients. My employer is awesome, very sweet and has a great sense of humor. I’m happy that I got this job, and I’m positive things will work out just fine with it.

On another exciting note, Jason and I found an apartment here in town! The rent is cheap, the apartment is very nice, and I’m close to family. I couldn’t ask for more than that! The apartment has brand new hard wood floors, new carpet, and new appliances. It’s perfect for our family! We’ll start moving this weekend, and finish mid next week. I am so excited! Finally, things are working out, and for the better! I’m looking forward to our “fresh start”.

Other than this, I’m working on a new layout for the site. The one that’s up took all of five minutes, if you couldn’t tell, and I’m beyond sick of looking at it. Hopefully, that will be up within the next week….we’ll see. That’s it for now, peace!!

I’m Working On It!!
Posted on March 14th, 2009 @ 8:15 pm

Wow, it’s been awhile since I’ve blogged! Quite a bit has happened since I last wrote, so I guess this is the update post. For starters, Jason and his daughter Isis moved here from MN. I’m loving having them here with me! I can’t say how much I’m enjoying waking up to his handsome face everyday, it’s truly a blessing! Aside from that, I’m working on getting a job. Same old story, I know. But times are rough, and the economy sucks! I’ve had a few interviews thus far, but nothing starts until the middle of next month… Hopefully, of the interviews I’ve had, I land the home care job. It’s one person, at their house, and pays great. I won’t know eitherway until later next week. *crosses fingers*

Other than the stuff above, I’ve been keeping pretty busy playing wifey/mommy. And honestly, I’m loving it! It’s been awhile since I’ve had the opportunity! Isis keeps me pretty busy, I forgot how much energy 6 year olds have! The first couple of weeks kind of wore me out, but it’s getting easier as time passes. She finally started school last week, and it’s nice having a few hours “off-duty”. ;)

If things go well, hopefully I’ll have a job within the next couple of weeks and we can get out on our own. That’d be so nice! At the moment, we’re staying with my family… Not that it’s a bad thing, but it’s always good to have a place to call your own. As for me, I’m really out of updates! I’ll try to write sometime soon, if I can come up with anything to write about! Peace!
